10th Annual Christmas Festival,

November 20, Events start at 9 am

 

*NEW* “The Frosty 5K Run and the Merry Mile Walk/Run” hosted by Salina Big Brothers/Big Sisters and sponsored by Salina Running Company. 

Entry fees:

Frosty 5K - $25 pre-registered, $30 after November 12

Merry Mile - $15 pre-registered, $25 after November 12

All participants will receive a Frosty 5K & Merry Mile T-shirt as well a goodies bag filled with coupons from the Salina downtown businesses!  The first 200 participants will receive a free water bottle!

Race starts at 9 am.

• Children’s Art in The Artery at Salina Art Center, Noon – 5 pm
• “Christmas Coloring Contest” at First Bank Kansas,  2 – 5 pm
• Cookies with Mrs. Claus at Mokas Bakery and Bistro, 2 - 3 pm
• Antique fire engine rides- Coldwell Banker Realtors, load at Sunflower Bank, 2 - 4 pm
• Visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Campbell Plaza Stage, 4 - 5 pm

 

For the whole family

• Toy train displays at the Stiefel Theatre, 3 - 6 pm
• Live Entertainment at the Stiefel Theatre, Noon - 5 pm
• Carriage rides from 2 - 5:30 pm; Loading at 249 S Santa Fe
• Strolling Carolers

 

*NEW* LIVE Nativity Scene, 2 and 3 pm, Northeast Corner of Ash & Santa Fe

Presented by Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pastor Kent and his congregation will be performing a scene by scene, reenactment of the story of Jesus' birth, complete with live animals! A second re-enactment will take place at 3 pm for those that can't make it at 2.

 

 

18th Annual Miracle on Santa Fe

Parade of Lights, November 20, 6 pm

Enjoy the lights! The Lee District will throw the switch on new holiday lighting. The Parade of Lights will entertain young and old alike. This is Salina’s premier Holiday event! Don’t miss the fun of all the lighted floats, dancing elves, marching presents and of course Santa Claus.

New This Year: Pre-Parade Entertainment! (Please read.)

There will be NO STOPPING for performances or routines during the Parade of Lights this year! 

In order to keep our parade moving quickly and smoothly, parade entries are invited to perform before the Parade of Lights in front of TV cameras.

Any parade entry that does a performance or routine is welcome to perform a routine of 5 minutes or less from 5 to 5:45 PM on Santa Fe Avenue. Please fill out the third page of the 2010 Parade Application below if your group plans to perform a routine.

*NEW* “Praise at the Plaza” Campbell Plaza Stage, following the Parade of Lights

Presented by First Church of the Nazarene, listen to an hour of music comprised of worship and Christmas music. Part of the music will be a group singing with the audience, the other part will be presented by soloists or groups. Candy canes/cards will be given out.
